On this adventure we are headed to Vermont and New Hampshire for some off-roading with "the Rescue Squad". A group of Land Cruiser fans that invited me down for a weekend of wheeling. Tight trails, big rocks, a lot of winching and some close calls, all the ingredients for a great off-road adventure on this Part 1 of the trip.

After more than 1,500 km of pushing north through some of the most remote terrain in Quebec, **The Boreal Traverse reaches its final chapter.** In Episode 9 – **End of the Road**, we turn our Jeeps south and begin the long journey home through the wild landscapes of Quebec’s Côte-Nord. But the adventure isn’t over yet. Following the river valley south from the remote interior, we travel beneath towering mountains, alongside an active railway, and through a landscape still covered in the smoky haze of distant forest fires. Along the way, we explore the remains of an old railway yard, encounter a train deep in the valley, and stop at the spectacular **MacDonald Falls** before continuing toward **Lake Walker** for lunch. Around every bend, the Côte-Nord delivers another incredible view. Eventually, gravel turns to pavement. We stop to air the tires back up — that bittersweet ritual that marks the end of nearly every great overland adventure. It’s also where we say goodbye to three members of our team who have shared the road with us. But we still have one final night. One last camp. One last fire. And one last chance to look back at everything it took to complete **The Boreal Traverse**. From northern New Brunswick through the Gaspésie and deep into Quebec’s Côte-Nord, this expedition has taken us across remote gravel roads, dangerous river crossings, abandoned infrastructure, massive hydroelectric projects, wilderness camps and thousands of kilometres of some of the most spectacular terrain in Eastern Canada. This is **The Boreal Traverse – Episode 9: End of the Road.** Thanks for coming along for the journey. After eight days of continuous northbound travel, we finally reach the culmination of the Boreal Traverse. Our journey takes us past Manic-5, the massive hydroelectric dam rising out of the remote wilderness of Québec’s Côte-Nord, before we continue pushing farther north into an increasingly vast and isolated landscape. Eventually, we reach what we’ve been calling the “Eye of Québec” — the northernmost point of our expedition and the end of our relentless push north. After approximately 1,500 kilometres of continuous northbound travel, we find camp on a remote beach surrounded by seemingly endless boreal wilderness. But as evening settles in, the landscape begins to change. Forest fires are burning in the distance, filling the air with smoke and haze. As the sun drops toward the horizon, the entire sky transforms into an eerie glowing red — a spectacular end to the day, but also a reminder of what is unfolding around us. For the first time since beginning this journey, our vehicles will soon be pointed south. We've reached the peak of the expedition, but we're still a very long way from home — and with wildfires beginning to affect the region, the adventure is far from over. The Boreal Traverse — Episode 8. A journey through some of the most remote roads, forests and landscapes of Eastern Canada, exploring the backcountry of New Brunswick, Québec's Gaspésie and the Côte-Nord by 4x4. The Boreal Traverse continues as we enter the final leg of our overland journey through some of the most remote terrain yet. The day starts with trouble before we even hit the trail — **Justin’s Tacoma won’t turn over, forcing us to troubleshoot the problem and make some tough decisions about how to keep the expedition moving. Once we get back underway, we head for Matane, Quebec, where we board the ferry and cross the mighty St. Lawrence River to continue our journey north. On the other side, we link up with a new couple who join the NBX crew for the remainder of the adventure. This is the beginning of the final leg of the Boreal Traverse, but the adventure is far from over. The farther north we travel, the more isolated the roads and trails become — and we're heading deeper into the Canadian wilderness. #BorealTraverse #NBX #NorthBoundExpeditions #Overlanding #JeepGladiator #JeepOverlanding #OverlandCanada #QuebecOverlanding #OffRoadAdventure #4x4 #RemoteCamping #ExpeditionTravel #CanadianWilderness #SaintLawrenceRiver #Matane North Bound Expeditions: (NBX Trail Gear) https://www.nbexpeditions.com SKYETENT (Roof Top Tent and Awnings) https://skyetent.com/shop/ols/products/adventurer3 Code: NBx5 SETPOWER USA (Fridge) https://collabs.shop/amukl https://collabs.shop/rq2avl AUXBEAM (Aux Lighting) https://auxbeam.com/ BLUETTI.CA (Power Bank) BLUETTI Solar Generators https://bit.ly/49pNkwM Discount code: NBX , save 5% off discount on all BLUETTI products! Accidents happen quickly, one moment of not looking at the right place at the right time or a distraction, and things can quickly go wrong. Having a great team along on adventures is a must! Fuel is getting low, we need to make our way to a gas station. Easier said than done,. Add rain into the mix and you have a recipe for an a great adventure! Enjoy Ep 4!

When the trail leads straight into a river and the only way forward is through a designated ford, you cross it. Turning back simply isn't an option when it means giving up the route. Gaspésie wasted no time putting us to the test! And before the comments roll in: not all river crossings are illegal. Many established trails include clearly marked or designated river fords as part of the route. As always, Gaspésie delivered breathtaking vistas, dramatic skies, and one unforgettable search for a campsite. But in true NBX fashion, we managed to find an absolutely epic place to spend the night. Join us for another unforgettable day of adventure through one of Canada's most stunning landscapes!
